Monday – Friday | 08:10am – 15:10pm
£93 per day
September 2026 – July 2027

A fantastic secondary school in Barry is offering an exciting opportunity for a passionate and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join their specialist Autism Base full time from September 2026.
This is not your typical classroom role.
You will become a key part of a specialist provision supporting pupils with Autism, Anxiety and additional learning difficulties as they make the important transition from primary school into secondary education. You’ll help pupils settle into a new environment, build confidence, develop routines and thrive both emotionally and academically within a nurturing and structured setting.

Your Role Will Include:
- Supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis
- Helping students adjust to secondary school routines
- Providing emotional and academic support
- Encouraging confidence, independence and engagement
- Working closely with experienced SEN staff
- Creating a calm and positive learning environment
✅ What We’re Looking For:
- Minimum GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
- A caring, patient and proactive attitude
- Strong communication skills
- Personal experience supporting individuals with Autism or learning difficulties
- Passion for helping young people succeed

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
