Graduate Teaching Assistant – Vale of Glamorgan
£93 per day | Full-time & Part-time Opportunities
Are you completing a degree in Psychology, Education, Maths, English, Health & Social Care, Sports, or a related subject? Looking to gain hands-on experience working with young people before taking the next step in your career?
We are recruiting Graduate Teaching Assistants to support pupils aged 11–16 (Years 7–11) within Additional Needs Bases across schools in the Vale of Glamorgan.
This is an excellent opportunity for graduates who are passionate about education, inclusion, and supporting pupils with additional learning needs. You will gain valuable classroom experience and develop practical skills working alongside experienced teaching staff.
The Role:
- Support pupils with their academic studies across core subjects
- Work closely with students who have a range of additional needs, including:
- Autism (ASC)
- ADHD
- Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
- Other complex learning difficulties
- Assist with behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies
- Provide 1:1 and small group support
- Help create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
What We’re Looking For:
- A graduate (or soon-to-be graduate) in a relevant field
- A genuine interest in working with young people with additional needs
- Patience, resilience, and strong communication skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
- A proactive and adaptable approach
Working Hours:
- Monday to Friday
- 08:15am – 3:30pm

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
