Teaching Personnel are currently working with a number of Primary Schools in Hertfordshire who require additional support in their Year 6 classes. There are a number of challenging pupils that will be going onto Secondary School at the end of the term who distract the rest of the class and need someone who is firm but fair.
We are looking for Teaching Assistants, Learning Support Assistants and Mentors to go in and support these pupils. You will work with small groups and 1:1 with pupils who are disengaged. Your main role will be to integrate them back within the class and support them with the run up to SATS.
You must have experience dealing with either special education needs, challenging pupils in a mainstream school or in another setting with children of this age. If you have team teach or steps this would be extremely desirable however not essential. You will need to be patient, thick skinned and persistent to take on this role.
