Inspire Confidence Through Learning – SEN Tutor Opportunity in Fernhurst

At TP Tutors, we believe that personalised support can transform a young person’s educational journey. Many students benefit from learning that is adapted to their individual needs, helping them build confidence, develop skills, and re-engage with education in a positive way.

We are currently looking for caring and dedicated SEN Tutors in Fernhurst to provide tailored one-to-one tuition for children and young people with additional learning needs.

Position: SEN Tutor
Location: Fernhurst and surrounding areas
Contract Type: Flexible part-time and full-time opportunities available

The Role

As an SEN Tutor, you will support learners outside of a mainstream classroom setting, creating engaging sessions that are adapted to each student’s unique learning style and needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver personalised one-to-one tuition sessions
  • Support learners with Autism, ADHD, SEMH, anxiety, and other additional needs
  • Adapt lesson plans and teaching approaches to suit individual students
  • Encourage confidence, independence, and positive engagement with learning
  • Build strong and supportive relationships with learners and families
  • Monitor progress and adjust sessions to support ongoing development
  • Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment

About You

  • Experience working with children or young people is advantageous
  • Backgrounds in teaching, tutoring, mentoring, support work, youth work, or care are welcomed
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach
  • Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and procedures
  • Ability to travel within Fernhurst and nearby areas

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
