Job description

Empower Young Minds as an SEN Tutor in Ashford

Are you passionate about helping children and young people overcome barriers to learning? TP Tutors is seeking dedicated Specialist SEN Tutors to provide personalised 1:1 support for learners across Ashford and nearby communities.

This role offers a meaningful opportunity to support students who benefit from alternative education pathways and tailored academic guidance.

Location: Ashford and surrounding areas
Hours: Flexible full-time and part-time positions available
Delivery: Face-to-face tuition sessions

About the Role

You will support pupils with a variety of additional learning needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, SEMH challenges, school avoidance, and anxiety-related barriers to education.

Your role will focus on building trust, increasing confidence, and helping learners re-engage with education through creative and personalised teaching strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging one-to-one tuition sessions
  • Adapt teaching methods to suit individual learning styles
  • Create structured and encouraging learning environments
  • Support emotional wellbeing alongside academic progress
  • Track learner development and provide progress feedback
  • Liaise with carers, schools, and external professionals where required
  • Travel to student homes or community settings within the local area

Ideal Candidate

  • Experience working with children or young people is beneficial
  • Suitable backgrounds include teaching, tutoring, youth work, SEN support, or mentoring
  • Patient, empathetic, and dependable approach
  • Strong communication and time-management skills
  • Awareness of safeguarding practices and professional conduct
  • Access to transport or willingness to travel locally

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
