Job description

Make a Positive Impact Through Education – SEN Tutor Required in Rainham

At TP Tutors, we believe that personalised learning can change lives. Many young people benefit from additional support that is tailored to their individual needs, helping them gain confidence, re-engage with learning, and achieve meaningful progress.

We are currently looking for dedicated and compassionate SEN Tutors in Rainham to provide one-to-one tuition for children and young people with additional learning needs.

Position: SEN Tutor
Location: Rainham and surrounding areas
Contract Type: Flexible part-time and full-time opportunities available

About the Role

As an SEN Tutor, you will deliver tailored tuition sessions designed to meet the individual needs of each learner. Working outside of a traditional classroom setting, you will help students develop confidence, independence, and a more positive relationship with education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging one-to-one tuition sessions
  • Support learners with Autism, ADHD, SEMH, anxiety, and other additional needs
  • Adapt teaching methods and lesson content to suit different learning styles
  • Encourage motivation, confidence, and independent learning
  • Build supportive and professional relationships with learners and families
  • Monitor student progress and adapt sessions where necessary
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment

About You

  • Experience working with children or young people is desirable
  • Backgrounds in teaching, tutoring, mentoring, youth work, support work, or care are advantageous
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach
  • Understanding of safeguarding procedures and responsibilities
  • Willingness to travel within Rainham and nearby areas

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
