We work closely with a Preston based School which caters specifically for pupils across KS3 / 4 who have SEMH Difficulties, Autism, ADHD, ODD and challenging behaviours. This School are looking to appoint a long term, full time 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a KS3 pupil who has particularly challenging behaviours and can often cause a lot of disruption in class. The pupil is male and is very intelligent, he needs a lot of stimulation and needs his work to be challenging in order to keep his engaged. Candidates suited to working with this pupils will be very firm in terms of behaviour management but have plenty of personality and a good sense of humour in order to built a secure relationship with the pupil.
The candidate applying for this role must be available to work 8.40am - 3.15pm Monday - Friday in Preston, Lancashire and be willing to spend the majority of their day supporting a pupil who can be very challenging. Whilst the pupil is rarely physically aggressive, candidates with their Team Teach training will be favoured, although this is not essential. The candidate applying for this role must be confident in their behaviour management skills and have a proven record of managing to build strong rapport / relationships with pupils who are harder to reach.
The role will likely start June 1st but the School can wait until September 2020 for the right candidate *both start dates subject to change due to covid - 19.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
