Contract: Full-Time

Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a friendly and inclusive primary school in Levenshulme to recruit a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant. This rewarding role will focus on supporting pupils with speech and language needs, helping them build confidence, communication skills, and independence both in and out of the classroom.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, providing tailored support to help them access learning and reach their full potential.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting pupils with speech and language difficulties throughout the school day
  • Delivering targeted interventions alongside class teachers, the SENCO, and external professionals
  • Encouraging confidence, engagement, and social development
  • Creating a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
  • Monitoring pupil progress and providing feedback to teaching staff
  • Supporting the implementation of individual learning plans and interventions

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

✔ Previous experience supporting children with speech and language needs

✔ A patient, nurturing, and proactive approach

✔ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

✔ The ability to work effectively as part of a school team

✔ SEN-related training or qualifications (desirable)

✔ A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
