1:1 LSA / Behaviour Support Worker

Our client school seeking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant/ Behaviour Support Worker to join their team from January 2018. The school is a large Junior School in the Totton area of Southampton. The school is easily reachable from Southampton and the New Forest.

This is a full time role to work on a 1:1 basis with a Key Stage 2 pupil with Behavioural, Emotional and Social Needs. The role will involve supporting the pupil both inside and outside the classroom and helping him to access the curriculum.

The successful candidate will:

-Have experience supporting children with challenging and complex needs
-Be able to work as part of a team
-Effectiveley communicate with parents, LEA and other memebers of the team
-Be able to work independently and use their initiative to adapt the learning as appropriate for the pupil
-Be resiient and confident supporting challenging behaviour
-Minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grade A-C, inlcuding Maths and English

• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (we can assist you in this)
• Experience with the current UK Curriculum

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
