Working alongside our partner primary school in Middleton (M24), Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit a caring and nurturing individual to work with children with special educational needs within a mainstream primary school. The school are looking to appoint for the Autumn Term 2023 to assist the ongoing needs of their existing pupils but also support an intake of new pupils into the school. 

  • Full-time position 8:30am – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday
  • Competitive pay starting from £77-85 per day with no admin fees
  • Earnings paid weekly

Working alongside the existing dedicated SEND team, the class teachers and senior leaders within school, the successful candidate will work with a range of pupils from across the school who require both additional academic and emotional support. The role is suited to an individual who is flexible and adaptable as the role has a great balance between in-class support and support within SEN provision rooms. 

As the school is well-staffed and highly equipped mainstream primary school, you will have access to and be supported in using the dedicated provision rooms around the school to provide tailored interventions to the pupils. As well as this, the rooms offer a safe space for many children, allowing them to engage in nurturing non-curriculum-based activities. 

The successful candidate may be working with multiple children throughout the school day, whom of which may have an Education and Health and Care Plan (EHCP) so needs to be adaptable to their needs, flexible within a team, and be committed to work towards meeting targets. Previous experience or knowledge of social, emotional, and mental health disorders, autism, learning difficulties, physical disabilities, attachment disorder or speech and language needs is desirable for this role but not essential. Candidates with experience as an adult carer, support worker, residential carer, youth worker or other non-education-based professions are encouraged to apply as they hold many transferable skills that would allow you to succeed in this role.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
