Are you looking for a role which offers you flexibility and variety to work in Secondary, Special and Primary Schools?

We are currently recruiting for day to day and long term cover supervisors, to be able to work on an ad-hoc basis across the Southampton region. The role would involve teaching numerous subjects and also across KS3 and KS4 children.

Schools in Southampton are looking for individuals who fit into any of the above categories who can work with them on a cover basis in the absence of their usual teaching and cover staff. The role is suitable for individuals who are looking for either part time or full time work and are able to travel across the Southampton area. This role as a cover supervisor will involve covering lessons in the absence of teachers and working with the schools cover team on days where the school need additional staff. Previous experience in the classroom is desirable, however if you are confident leading groups and can follow instructions and the schools behaviour policy you will also be considered.

Responsibilities include:

  • Delivering pre planned work to the class whilst covering a wide range of subjects, dependent on the needs of the school on the day.
  • Ensuring the schools behaviour policy is adhered to through effective behaviour management techniques.
  • Assisting the pupils with any work related questions they have as well as supporting with any additional needs, for example any SEN or behaviour related issues.
  • Reporting back to the head of department of progress of pupils within the class.
