£1000 - £1300 per month

Job description

This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...

Teaching Personnel are working alongside a modern secondary school in Oldham that require a Youth Worker to work within the school to act as a role model and support pupils who have displayed signs of challenging behaviour both within and outside of the class room. This is a very rewarding role where you will make a real difference in these young people's lives as you encourage them to further engage with education and reduce their likelihood to become involved with drugs, alcohol, violence and gangs.

  • Full time position starting after Easter
  • Earn up to £1300 a month dependent on experience and responsibilities
  • Access to further development through our CPD training courses in partner schools
  • Strengthen your application for PGCE placement or similar Teacher Training Programme

Our client school is located in Oldham close to Hollinwood Interchange off the M60 ring road. It is close to major transport links to the city centre so is easily accessible for anybody with their own car or those using public transport. The school is a large mixed secondary school with state of the art facilities throughout, it has recently had a multimillion pound refurbishment which offers excellent provisions for both teachers and learners, this is reflected on the school recently being voted one of the most improved schools, not only in the North West, but in the whole of England.

  • Providing tuition to pupils across a range of subject areas, both on a 1:1 and a group basis
  • Work closely with SENCO and Inclusion Manager developing targeted improvement plans for identified pupils
  • Track the progress of pupils and report back to SENCO as well as pupils parents, discussing ways of improvement and further development plans

This position is a perfect opportunity for anybody with previous experience working with young people in an educational setting, or for anybody considering enrolling in a PGCE or similar teacher training programme in the future. You will be required to have strong behaviour management skills as well as a vast subject knowledge, dependent on the needs of the school and the individual pupils involved.

For immediate consideration please send an updated CV which highlights your previous school based experience to the Manchester North Secondary branch or call us today for further information.
