Job description

Position: Youth Worker

Location:  Levenshulme, Manchester

Start date: 13th May.

End date: Ongoing.

Contract type: Temporary to Permanent Role

Working hours: Monday-Friday (8.30am-3.30pm)

Pay rate: £83.85 – 92 per day.

Job Duties:

  • Engage with pupils in a positive and supportive manner.
  • Provide guidance and support to young people facing challenges.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement youth programmes.
  • Monitor and evaluate the progress of young people and adjust support as needed.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Level 3 qualification in Youth Work or related field
  • Valid DBS check
  • Excellent communication and people skills

Education:

Level 3 qualification in Youth Work or related field

Experience:

Prior experience working with young people in a similar role.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of the issues facing young people today
  • Ability to build rapport and establish trusting relationships with young people.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Knowledge of safeguarding policies and procedures

Preferred Qualifications:

  • First Aid certification
  • Additional training in mental health support for young people

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
