Job description

The Head Teacher of a primary school in Blackburn is looking to recruit a qualified Primary Teacher to provide one-to-one English and Maths sessions to their Year 6 pupils.

This position is part-time: four mornings/ afternoons or two full days, and is temporary until May 2021. The interventions will be based upon the pupils’ recent assessments and are aimed to boost attainment in preparation for the end of KS2 SATs tests. The school have recently bought into a scheme, which will provide the basic outline of each session.

The successful candidate will have excellent knowledge of the Year 6 curriculum and prior experience of delivering Key Stage 2 English and Maths intervention sessions. They will also demonstrate commitment to raising standards.

The school is a large, Ofsted graded ‘GOOD’ primary school located close by to the M65. The proportion of pupils eligible for support from the pupil premium is more than twice the national average; the proportion of pupils who have SEN and/or disabilities is also high.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
