About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Year 5 Teacher to deliver engaging, well-structured lessons that challenge pupils academically while supporting their confidence, independence, and curiosity as learners.

• Start Date: February

• Location: Barnstaple, Devon

• Contract: Part-Time – 2 days per week

• Pay: M1–M6 DOE (paid weekly)

What You’ll Do

• Plan and teach engaging, high-quality Year 5 (KS2) lessons

• Support pupils’ progress in reading, writing, and maths

• Create a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment

• Build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents

• Promote pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development

• Uphold safeguarding and child welfare at all times

What We’re Looking For

• Qualified Teacher Status (ECTs welcome)

• Good understanding of the KS2 / Year 5 curriculum

• Positive and proactive classroom approach

• Strong communication and behaviour management skills

• Commitment to supporting pupil progress and wellbeing
