Job description

Teaching Personnel are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Year 5 Teacher to join a warm and supportive primary school in the Burnage area. The school is looking for someone to begin on 1st April, initially on a short trial period running up to the Easter half term. If the placement is successful, the role will then continue full time from after Easter until July.

This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who is confident in upper Key Stage 2 and who can quickly build rapport with pupils, deliver engaging lessons, and maintain high expectations for learning and behaviour. The school prides itself on its welcoming atmosphere, supportive leadership team and strong focus on pupil progress and wellbeing. Staff collaborate closely within the KS2 phase, and the successful teacher will be well supported throughout the transition into the class.

During the trial period, the school will be assessing classroom practice, planning quality, behaviour management and how effectively the teacher fits in with the school’s ethos and team dynamic. For the right candidate, this is a fantastic pathway into a stable, full‑term position for the remainder of the academic year.

Teaching Personnel will provide ongoing support, competitive pay reflective of experience, access to CPD opportunities and a dedicated consultant to guide you through each stage of the placement.

If you are a motivated and adaptable Year 5 practitioner looking for a long‑term opportunity with a supportive school community, we would love to hear from you.
