Year 2 Teacher

The Head Teacher of a reputable primary school in Bamber Bridge is keen to secure a dynamic teacher to join their Key Stage 1 team!

This is a full-time teaching role and an excellent opportunity for an NQT or fully-qualified teacher who is keen to guide children through their KS1 SATs.

As a new member of the team, you will be welcomed by all staff and will be invited to attend staff meetings and regularly CPD opportunities, as well as Year 2 cluster meetings with colleagues at local schools.

This school encourage collaborative planning - this will be alongside the KS1 Phase Leader and Year 2 partner teacher.  Experience teaching Year 2 would be advantageous, however not essential. Candidates with Year 1 and EYFS experience are welcome to apply.

The school is located close to public transport links and is easily commutable from surrounding areas. The percentage of pupils attending the school who are eligible for pupil premium funding is higher than average. Behaviour in school is GOOD and this is a reflection of the high standards set by the Senior Leadership Team and hard work of all teaching and support staff to maintain this standard. The Head Teacher is keen to secure a candidate who has excellent behaviour management.

This role is to begin from 16th March 2020 and will continue until July 2020, however the school are able to cover internally for up to two weeks to secure the right candidate.  As a long-term member of staff the successful candidate would have the advantage in securing a permanent position from September 2020.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Planning for learning and progression
  • Differentiating for the various needs of the pupils, and teaching accordingly
  • Assessing, monitoring and recording progression
  • Creating a safe and engaging learning environment
  • Managing behaviour effectively
  • Providing feedback to parents or carers
  • Undertaking continuous professional development
  • Contributing to the wider life of the school
