this is a fantastic opportunity at a primary school in Leicester. the school are looking for KS1 Level 3 learning support practitioner to support specific pupils with special educational needs. This is a job opportunity that will start in September.

Your new job

this level 3 teaching assistant position is to support specific children with special education needs in KS1. You will be working inside and outside the classroom on a one-to-one basis supporting and developing pupils learning and inclusion. This will involve communicating with other staff members and external agencies to ensure that barriers to learning are removed for this pupil.

what you will need to succeed

You much have an NQT level 3 in teaching assistant support or equivalent as well as experience supporting pupils with SEN on a one-to-one basis. A motivation for supporting pupils social and educational inclusion is essential and you must be able to plan and successfully deliver appropriate programmes to work to meet individual pupil needs and targets. Brilliant communication skills are needed as you will have to liase with external agencies and parents. Knowledge and/or training in PECS or MAKATON are desirable but not essential for the job opportunity.
