Year 1 Class Teacher required for a November start

QTS and KS1 experience is a necessity and strong behaviour management.

Must be fully inducted and experienced in KS1.

Potential to have Curriculum leadership responsibility.

A school in the heart of Blackburn, Lancashire have approached Teaching Personnel in Preston in order to source, shortlist and appoint a Year 1 experienced Primary Teacher. The applying candidates must have QTS and recent experience in KS1. It is also important that you are able to evidence using a range of behaviour strategies and raise standards in a primary classroom. The school is a two-form entry primary and due to this you will be able to plan alongside the adjacent class teacher.

The school which requires the Year 1 teacher are currently maintaining an 'Outstanding' Ofsted grading from 2014 and are hoping to continue this. The school has a mixed catchment area and is noted as a 'vulnerable' school by the LEA and has some of the most challenging children attending school. It is important that the applying candidate has a range of behaviour strategies and that you can evidence schools you have taught in over the past years and how you have impacted on learning.

The head teacher has been in post for over six years and possesses a commitment to the children in her care; ensuring they are safe; they learn to their potential and they are given every opportunity to grow in confidence and socially. She is keen to break down barriers in learning, barriers such as 'challenging backgrounds', children from 'socially deprived backgrounds' and other children who do not speak 'English as their First Language'. The school is a faith school but it is not a necessity to be affiliated with a church to be considered/successful in this role. The Head teacher is also keen to see applying CVs and then arrange for an interview and trial lesson in preparation for the November start.

The role will be to take effect from November 6th and be to work as the full time class teacher five days a week. The role has the potential to continue for the entirety of the academic year (with the view to a temp to perm opportunity). The Head teacher has also mentioned that they just want fully inducted teachers as they do not have the capacity to appoint a Newly Qualified Teacher.
