Y1 Teaching Assistant - English and Maths Support

We are currently working alongside a large Primary School in the central Blackpool area who use Teaching Personnel exclusively for their staffing needs. This school holds an excellent reputation in the area and generally the children display exemplary behaviour.

The Headteacher of this school is looking for an inspirational Teaching Assistant to support small groups of children in Y1. The successful applicant would be required to work as a general TA in the mornings, and then working with small groups of vulnerable children in the afternoons. This is a full time post starting in January 2019 and would be reviewed at Easter with the view to extend until the end of the academic year. This school serves a socially deprived catchment area, candidates with experience working in schools located in urban areas would be advantageous for this role, excellent behaviour management is also essential. This is a new role and the school have received additional funding to close the gap between lower and higher ability pupils.

The successful candidate must be a good listener, have a calm manner, and be able to implement effective strategies to improve Maths and English. The ideal candidate will have worked with children either in small groups on a 1:1 basis previously. The working hours for this role are 8:45-3:30 and this would include lunch duties, there will be a 30 minute lunch break. This school is located off the main road however it is easily accessible using public transport links.

Essential: To be considered for this role, you must have a relevant Level 2 or above qualification.
