Teacher of the Visually Impaired for an SEN school in Aylesbury

  • Are you a qualified teacher?
  • Do you have experience working with visually impaired learners or want to start supporting children with VI?
  • Do you want a rewarding role for the new academic year?

A school that provides first class education, therapy and support for children aged 0-18 with cerebral palsy, related sensory motor disorders and development delay are currently looking for a full time teacher from September.

The schools aim is to lead the way in the delivery of innovative and effective educational and developmental provision that focuses on the development of independence skills in all areas, while recognising that every child is different and has unique potential.

We are looking for a qualified teacher for visually impaired students, who has the ability to support, motivate and encourage students to develop and achieve their full potential. Ideally, you will have experience in a similar role and will have the ability to be sensitive to students’ needs and learning styles. You should have an interest in and understanding of additional support needs.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

• Able to assess learner’s needs and devise an appropriate Individual Learning Plan

• Understands the needs, objectives, and constraints of visually impaired learners

• To provide bespoke sessions for each student according to the needs of the individual student.

• Experience with Braille text or visual and sensory awareness is not essential but is desirable to support the blind or partially sighted children to support their needs accordingly.
