We are seeking a confident and committed Teaching Assistant to join a highly complex, specialist education setting based in Weymouth. This is not a typical school environment - it is a dynamic and diverse provision supporting pupils with a wide range of educational needs, requiring patience, flexibility and strong professional judgement.-
About the Role
- Supporting pupils across mixed-age classes, ranging from 4 to 19 years old
- Supporting students with complex needs, which may include social, emotional and behavioural challenges
- Helping to maintain a structured, nurturing and safe learning environment
- Encouraging independence, resilience and positive engagement in learning
Due to the complexity of the setting, this role would suit a Teaching Assistant who is:
- Experienced in working within specialist or alternative provisions
- Confident supporting a broad range of ages and abilities
- Calm, patient and adaptable in fast-changing situations
- Comfortable working within creative and practical learning environments
- A strong team player with excellent communication skills

- Previous experience in a complex school or specialist setting is essential
- A genuine passion for supporting children and young people across a wide age range
- The ability to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils
- Resilience and emotional intelligence

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
