Are you an experienced, adaptable and resilient Teaching Assistant looking for a truly rewarding role?

We are seeking a confident and committed Teaching Assistant to join a highly complex, specialist education setting based in Weymouth. This is not a typical school environment - it is a dynamic and diverse provision supporting pupils with a wide range of educational needs, requiring patience, flexibility and strong professional judgement.-

About the Role

  • Supporting pupils across mixed-age classes, ranging from 4 to 19 years old
  • Supporting students with complex needs, which may include social, emotional and behavioural challenges
  • Helping to maintain a structured, nurturing and safe learning environment
  • Encouraging independence, resilience and positive engagement in learning

Due to the complexity of the setting, this role would suit a Teaching Assistant who is:

  • Experienced in working within specialist or alternative provisions
  • Confident supporting a broad range of ages and abilities
  • Calm, patient and adaptable in fast-changing situations
  • Comfortable working within creative and practical learning environments
  • A strong team player with excellent communication skills

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience in a complex school or specialist setting is essential
  • A genuine passion for supporting children and young people across a wide age range
  • The ability to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils
  • Resilience and emotional intelligence

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
