I am looking for a tutor to support a Year 9 LAC pupil in the Nottingham area (Ng16 postcode).

A School place has been applied for but we require a tutor in the interim until she is able to begin tuition.

This will be for 25 hours per week (5 hours per day ideally) depending on how she engages.

The tutor will be required to deliver Engagement activities, English and Art (Maths at a later point). She is working at GCSE Grade 3 in most subjects and requires someone to help her build up her confidence.

We are looking for someone with the following skills and experience:

  • Knowledge and experience working with pupils who present with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties
  • Resilient to dealing with challenging behaviour
  • Experienced working with Looked After Children
  • Nurturing and patient approach
  • Able to work face to face in the home environment, engaging professionally with residential care staff, Social Workers, Local Authority clients and other professionals.
  • Able to plan and deliver cross-curricular engaging lessons at KS3 level
  • Confident to deal with safeguarding concerns following correct protocols and policies
  • Committed to this extremely vulnerable young person for as long as is required - continuity and consistency is key so we are looking for reliable tutors

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
