Job description

This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...

Teaching Personnel are recruiting for Tutors to work in Nottingham City, predominantly to support disaffected male students who are Looked After.

We are looking for resilient, confident Teachers and Teaching Assistants who can manage challenging behaviour and have a good understanding of how to support individuals with complex Mental Health Difficulties.

The ideal candidates for these roles will be:

  • Youth Workers
  • Support Workers
  • Mental Health Workers
  • Teaching Assistants with experience working in Pupil Referral Units or Alternative Provisions
  • Teachers with experience working in Pupil Referral Units or Alternative Provisions
  • Counsellors
  • Experienced working in Nurture Units within primary/secondary provisions
  • Experienced within hospital, secure unit, prison or mental health ward settings

Many of these roles will involve planning and delivering work to extremely disengaged pupils who do not currently have a school place, therefore you will need to be confident in working independently without the support of a class teacher.  The roles will involve a combination of pastoral behaviour support in addition to academic support. We require nurturing, motivated individuals with a passion for making a difference to hard to reach young people.

This is an extremely rewarding role and we have had many success stories, where children have successfully integrated into a school provision with the help of our fantastic staff. Could you be the next Teaching Personnel Tutor who can successfully make a difference to a young person's life?

If you are interested in this role, please contact Emma Frost on 0115 8456409 or email emma.frost@teachingpersonnel.com. I look forward to hearing from you.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see teachingpersonnel.com/faqs for details.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.

Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
