  • Support pupils in developing subject knowledge, confidence and academic skills.
  • Prepare lesson plans and engaging learning materials.
  • Adapt teaching approaches to meet different learning styles and abilities.
  • Monitor progress, assess learning outcomes and maintain session records.
  • Encourage positive learning habits, independence and motivation.
  • Provide appropriate support to pupils with SEND, behavioural and emotional needs.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, schools and other professionals.
  • Maintain safeguarding standards and promote pupils' safety and wellbeing.

Subjects and Areas of Support

We welcome applications from tutors with experience in:

  • Primary English, Maths and Reading.
  • Secondary English, Maths and Science.
  • GCSE preparation and revision.
  • Functional Skills, Literacy and Numeracy.
  • History, Geography and Humanities.
  • Computing and Modern Foreign Languages.
  • Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
  • Home Education and Alternative Provision.

Skills and Experience

To be considered for this role, you should have:

  • At least two years of teaching or tutoring experience in the UK.
  • Experience supporting primary or secondary-aged pupils.
  • Confidence in planning and delivering structured learning sessions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good organisational and time-management abilities.
  • A patient, flexible and encouraging approach.
  • Ability to travel to assignments across Wellingborough and surrounding areas.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

QTS, PGCE or an equivalent teaching qualification would be advantageous but is not essential.

SEND Experience

We are particularly interested in tutors who have experience supporting children and young people with:

  • Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).
  • ADHD.
  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
  • Dyslexia and Dyspraxia.
  • Speech, language and communication needs.
  • Emotionally Based School Non-Attendance (EBSNA).

What We Offer

  • Flexible tutoring opportunities to fit around your availability.
  • Competitive weekly pay.
  • Opportunities to work across home, school and alternative provision settings.
  • Potential for long-term placements and permanent opportunities.
  • The opportunity to make a meaningful difference to children's learning, confidence and development.

Apply Today!

If you are enthusiastic about education and passionate about helping young people overcome learning barriers and reach their potential, we would love to hear from you.

Join TP Tutors and become part of a dedicated team making a positive difference to learners across Wellingborough and the surrounding areas.

All pay rates quoted are inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.

TP Tutors is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All educators are subject to safeguarding checks in line with Department for Education (DfE) guidance including Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE). This may also include an online search as part of our safer recruitment process.

All educators must complete our annual tuition training programme, covering Safeguarding, Prevent Duty, KCSIE, Allergy Awareness, and Child-on-Child Abuse Awareness. Tutors must also hold, or be willing to obtain, a valid Child-only Enhanced DBS certificate on the update service, with full guidance provided.

Many pupils supported by TP Tutors require tailored educational provision. Tutors should be confident in building positive relationships, adapting their approach to meet individual needs, and maintaining high standards of professionalism and safeguarding at all times. Tutors must also be able to effectively plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons that meet the learner’s individual needs, monitor progress, and adapt teaching strategies to support positive outcomes.
