We are seeking individuals who can inspire learners, build their confidence and help them achieve their educational goals. You will support pupils with different abilities and learning requirements, including those who need help improving their academic performance, preparing for examinations or accessing education outside a mainstream classroom.

Tuition sessions may be arranged in pupils' homes, schools or alternative learning environments.

What Will the Role Involve?

As an Education Tutor, you will be responsible for:

  • Delivering individual tuition sessions tailored to each learner's ability and educational targets.
  • Supporting pupils with academic development and improving their confidence.
  • Recognising areas of difficulty and planning appropriate learning strategies.
  • Preparing creative lesson plans and adapting teaching resources.
  • Reviewing progress and maintaining accurate records of sessions.
  • Encouraging motivation, independence and positive learning behaviours.
  • Providing additional assistance to pupils with SEND and behavioural challenges.
  • Communicating effectively with parents, schools and other supporting professionals.
  • Following safeguarding procedures and ensuring pupils feel safe and supported.

Subjects We Are Recruiting For

Applications are welcome from tutors with experience in:

  • Primary English, Maths and Reading.
  • Secondary English, Mathematics and Science.
  • GCSE tuition and examination preparation.
  • Functional Skills, Literacy and Numeracy.
  • History, Geography and other Humanities.
  • Computing and Modern Foreign Languages.
  • Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
  • Home education and alternative provision.

What We Are Looking For

To be successful, candidates should have:

  • At least two years of teaching or tutoring experience in the UK.
  • Previous experience supporting primary or secondary-aged children.
  • Confidence in delivering structured and engaging learning sessions.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Good planning, organisation and time-management abilities.
  • The flexibility to adapt teaching approaches to individual pupils.
  • The ability to travel to assignments throughout Daventry and nearby areas.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

A QTS, PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification would be beneficial but is not essential.

Experience with SEND Learners

We are particularly keen to hear from tutors who have experience supporting children and young people with:

  • Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).
  • ADHD.
  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties.
  • Dyslexia and dyspraxia.
  • Speech, language and communication needs.
  • Emotionally Based School Non-Attendance (EBSNA).

Why Work with TP Tutors?

  • Flexible opportunities to work around your existing commitments.
  • Competitive weekly remuneration.
  • A range of tuition settings and assignments.
  • Possibilities for ongoing placements and permanent employment.
  • The chance to make a real difference to children's education and future prospects.
