Help Every Learner Reach Their Potential

TP Tutors is looking for motivated and dedicated Tutors to provide personalised educational support to children and young people across Towcester and neighbouring areas.

This is an excellent opportunity for experienced teachers and tutors who are passionate about helping pupils develop their knowledge, improve their academic abilities and gain confidence in their learning.

You will deliver one-to-one tuition, adapting your teaching style to meet individual learning needs. Assignments may involve supporting pupils who require additional academic assistance, preparing learners for GCSE examinations or working with children with SEND.

Sessions may be delivered at pupils' homes, schools or alternative learning environments.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Provide tailored tuition to meet individual learning objectives and academic needs.
  • Deliver engaging lessons across primary, secondary and GCSE levels.
  • Identify learning gaps and use appropriate strategies to improve understanding.
  • Create lesson plans, teaching resources and stimulating activities.
  • Track pupil development and provide regular progress updates.
  • Motivate learners and encourage confidence, participation and independence.
  • Adapt lessons to accommodate additional learning, emotional and behavioural needs.
  • Work collaboratively with families, schools and relevant professionals.
  • Maintain professional safeguarding standards at all times.

Subjects We Are Recruiting For

We are particularly interested in tutors with experience in:

  • Primary English, Maths and Reading.
  • Secondary English, Mathematics and Science.
  • GCSE teaching and examination preparation.
  • Functional Skills and basic literacy and numeracy.
  • History, Geography and other Humanities subjects.
  • ICT, Computing and Modern Foreign Languages.
  • SEND and additional learning support.
  • Home education and alternative provision.

Skills and Experience Required

Successful applicants should have:

  • A minimum of two years' teaching or tutoring experience within the UK.
  • Experience working with primary or secondary school pupils.
  • Good knowledge of their chosen subject areas.
  • The ability to deliver structured and effective lessons.
  • Excellent communication, organisation and time-management skills.
  • A compassionate, patient and adaptable teaching approach.
  • Access to transport to travel to assignments across Towcester and nearby locations.
  • An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

QTS, PGCE or an equivalent teaching qualification would be an advantage but is not essential.

Experience Supporting SEND Learners

Applications are particularly encouraged from tutors who have worked with pupils with:

  • Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).
  • Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
  • Dyslexia and dyspraxia.
  • Speech, language and communication needs.
  • Emotionally Based School Non-Attendance (EBSNA).

What We Offer

  • Flexible assignments that can fit around your existing commitments.
  • Competitive weekly pay.
  • A variety of teaching opportunities in homes, schools and alternative provisions.
  • Potential for regular placements and longer-term opportunities.
  • A rewarding role where you can make a genuine impact on children's education.
