We are looking for educators who can make learning accessible, engaging and rewarding. You will support pupils with different educational abilities, including those who need help rebuilding their confidence, improving academic performance, preparing for examinations or accessing education outside a traditional classroom environment.

Depending on the assignment, tuition will be delivered in pupils' homes, schools or alternative provision settings.

Your Role

As an Education Tutor, your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing individual tuition tailored to each learner's educational needs and targets.
  • Teaching core subjects and supporting progress against curriculum expectations.
  • Recognising areas of difficulty and implementing effective learning strategies.
  • Preparing appropriate lesson plans, activities and teaching resources.
  • Reviewing and recording pupil progress, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Creating a positive and encouraging environment that promotes independent learning.
  • Supporting pupils with additional learning, communication and behavioural needs.
  • Maintaining regular communication with families, schools and relevant professionals.
  • Following safeguarding policies and ensuring pupil welfare remains a priority.

Subjects We Are Looking For

Applications are welcome from tutors experienced in:

  • Primary English, Maths and Reading.
  • Secondary English, Maths and Science.
  • GCSE tuition and examination preparation.
  • Functional Skills, basic literacy and numeracy.
  • Geography, History and Humanities.
  • Computing and Modern Foreign Languages.
  • Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
  • Home-based tuition and alternative education.

Candidate Profile

To be successful, you will ideally have:

  • A minimum of two years' teaching or tutoring experience in the UK.
  • Previous experience working with primary or secondary-aged pupils.
  • The ability to deliver engaging, structured and personalised lessons.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Confidence managing different learning styles and behavioural needs.
  • Access to transport and the ability to travel across Daventry and surrounding areas.
  • An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

QTS, PGCE or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification is desirable, although not essential.

SEND Experience

We particularly encourage applications from tutors who have experience supporting learners with:

  • Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).
  • Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
  • Dyslexia and dyspraxia.
  • Speech, language and communication needs.
  • Emotionally Based School Non-Attendance (EBSNA).

Why Join TP Tutors?

  • Flexible opportunities to suit your availability.
  • Competitive weekly pay.
  • A variety of tuition settings and learner needs.
  • Opportunities for long-term assignments and permanent positions.
  • The chance to make a genuine difference to children's learning and development.
