1:1 Tutor Required – Northampton

Are you an experienced teacher looking for a flexible and rewarding opportunity to make a real difference?

TP Tutors, part of Teaching Personnel, is recruiting experienced 1:1 Tutors to provide personalised tuition to pupils across Northampton and the surrounding areas. Tuition sessions take place in pupils' homes or school settings during school hours, supporting young people who require additional academic guidance to achieve their full potential.

This role is ideal for experienced educators who are passionate about delivering tailored learning to pupils who may be out of mainstream education, have SEND, SEMH needs, medical needs, or require additional support to re-engage with learning.

The Role

As a 1:1 Tutor, you will:

  • Deliver engaging, personalised one-to-one tuition tailored to each pupil's learning needs.
  • Plan and adapt lessons in line with the National Curriculum.
  • Support pupils in improving academic attainment, confidence, and engagement with learning.
  • Monitor, assess, and record pupil progress after each tuition session.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, families, schools, and local authorities.
  • Create a safe, supportive, and motivating learning environment that encourages success.

Requirements

We are looking for candidates who have:

  • A minimum of two years' teaching experience in a school or educational setting.
  • Strong knowledge of the UK National Curriculum.
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and behaviour management skills.
  • The ability to differentiate teaching to meet individual learning needs.
  • A patient, reliable, and adaptable approach to supporting young people.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is desirable due to travel between tuition locations.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
