Job description

1:1 Tutor – Primary & Secondary Students

Location: Northampton and surrounding areas
Hours: Flexible, during school hours
Pay: Competitive hourly rate (dependent on experience and qualifications)

About the Role

We are currently recruiting experienced and passionate 1:1 Tutors to support Primary and Secondary students across Northampton and the surrounding areas. Tuition sessions will take place either in pupils' homes or within school settings during school hours.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and effective 1:1 tuition sessions tailored to individual student needs.
  • Plan and prepare lessons in line with the student's learning objectives and curriculum requirements.
  • Support students with academic attainment, confidence, and independent learning skills.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, adapting teaching strategies where appropriate.
  • Build positive relationships with students, parents/carers, schools, and other professionals.
  • Maintain accurate records and provide regular feedback as required.

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of teaching experience in a Primary or Secondary school setting.
  • Strong understanding of the UK National Curriculum.
  • Experience working with students of varying abilities, including those requiring additional support.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to engage, motivate, and inspire learners on a one-to-one basis.
  • Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Access to reliable transport and willingness to travel within Northampton and surrounding areas is desirable.
