1:1 Tutor – Northampton Area

Location: Northampton and surrounding areas

Hours: Flexible – During School Hours

Pay: Competitive hourly rate (dependent on experience and qualifications)

Contract Type: Part-Time / Flexible

About the Role

We are currently recruiting experienced and enthusiastic 1:1 Tutors to support primary and secondary-aged pupils across Northampton and the surrounding areas.

Working closely with local schools, tuition sessions will be delivered on a one-to-one basis in a variety of settings, including:

  • Pupils' homes
  • School settings
  • Local libraries

This role is ideal for qualified teachers who are passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning, build confidence, and achieve their academic goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and personalised 1:1 tuition sessions.
  • Support pupils in core subjects, including English and Maths.
  • Adapt lessons to meet individual learning needs and abilities.
  • Monitor and record pupil progress.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, parents/carers, and schools.
  • Ensure all safeguarding and compliance procedures are followed.

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years' teaching experience within UK .
  • Strong knowledge of the UK National Curriculum.
  • Experience teaching primary and/or secondary-aged pupils.
  • Enhanced DBS Certificate on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Access to reliable transport and willingness to travel within Northampton and surrounding areas.

Desirable Experience

  • Previous tutoring experience.
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND, SEMH, EHCPs, or those accessing alternative provision.
  • Ability to teach across multiple key stages and subjects.
  • Experience working with pupils who require additional support to engage with education.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
