1:1 Tutor – Northampton Area

Location: Northampton and surrounding areas
Hours: Flexible, during school hours
Pay: Competitive hourly rate (dependent on experience and qualifications)
Contract Type: Part-time / Flexible

About the Role

We are seeking experienced and dedicated 1:1 Tutors to provide tailored educational support to pupils across Northampton and the surrounding areas. Tuition sessions will take place in pupils' homes, schools, or alternative educational settings during school hours.

This is a rewarding opportunity for qualified educators who are passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning, build confidence, and achieve their academic potential through personalised support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and effective 1:1 tuition sessions.
  • Support pupils in core subjects, including English and Maths, and other subjects where appropriate.
  • Adapt teaching methods and resources to meet individual learning needs.
  • Assess, monitor, and report on pupil progress.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, parents/carers, schools, and other professionals.
  • Maintain accurate records and adhere to safeguarding and compliance requirements.

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years' teaching experience within UK schools.
  • Strong knowledge of the UK National Curriculum.
  • Experience supporting pupils with a range of learning needs and abilities.
  • Enhanced DBS Certificate on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Access to a vehicle and willingness to travel within Northampton and surrounding areas.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience working with SEND, SEMH, EHCP pupils, or those accessing alternative provision.
  • Previous tutoring experience.
  • Ability to teach across multiple key stages.
  • Experience supporting pupils who are disengaged from mainstream education.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
