1:1 Tutor – Northampton Area

Location: Northampton and surrounding areas
Job Type: Part-Time / Flexible Hours
Working Hours: School hours (Monday to Friday)
Pay: Competitive hourly rate (dependent on experience and qualifications)

About the Role

We are currently seeking experienced and dedicated 1:1 Tutors to provide personalised tuition to pupils in the Northampton area. Sessions will take place either in the pupil's home or within a school setting during school hours.

This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils who require additional educational support, helping them build confidence, re-engage with learning, and achieve their academic goals.

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of teaching experience in a school, college, tutoring, or educational setting.
  • Strong understanding of the UK curriculum.
  • Experience planning and delivering engaging lessons tailored to individual learner needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Enhanced DBS Certificate on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Ability to travel to tuition locations across Northampton and surrounding areas.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience working with SEND, SEMH, EAL, or pupils requiring additional support.
  • Previous experience delivering one-to-one tuition.
  • Experience supporting pupils who are out of education or at risk of exclusion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality one-to-one tuition tailored to the individual needs of each learner.
  • Plan, prepare, and adapt lessons to support pupil progress.
  • Monitor and record learner achievements and attendance.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, parents/carers, schools, and other professionals.
  • Maintain accurate records and submit session reports as required.
  • Follow safeguarding and child protection procedures at all times.
