Job Title: 1:1 Tutor (School & Home-Based) – Northampton Area
Location: Northampton and surrounding areas
Hours: Flexible (during school hours)
Pay: Competitive, dependent on experience
About the Role
We are seeking a committed and flexible 1:1 Tutor to support pupils across the Northampton area, either within school settings or in their home during school hours. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about helping students overcome barriers to learning and achieve their academic goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver tailored 1:1 tuition sessions based on individual pupil needs
- Support learning in core subjects such as English, Maths, and/or Science
- Adapt teaching strategies to suit different abilities and learning styles
- Build strong, positive relationships to encourage pupil engagement and confidence
- Track and report on pupil progress
- Follow safeguarding and compliance procedures at all times
Requirements
- Experience working with children or young people (teaching, tutoring, mentoring, or similar)
- Good knowledge of the UK curriculum
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
- Ability to work independently and manage your own schedule
Desirable
- QTS or currently studying towards a PGCE
- Experience supporting SEN pupils or those with additional needs
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
