SEND Tutor – North Yorkshire

Are you a patient, empathetic, and experienced educator passionate about inclusive learning? We’re looking for a committed SEND Tutor to work with children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) across North Yorkshire.
About the Role:
As a SEND Tutor, you will provide personalised, one-to-one or small-group support for learners with a range of needs including ASD, ADHD, dyslexia, learning difficulties, SEMH, and speech and language challenges. You’ll play a vital role in building confidence, supporting progress, and fostering a love for learning in a safe and nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Deliver bespoke, accessible lessons tailored to individual EHCPs and learning plans

Adapt teaching methods and materials to suit diverse needs and learning styles

Work closely with families, schools, and professionals to ensure consistent support

Monitor and report on student progress, adapting strategies as needed
Requirements:
-
Experience working with children or young people with SEND
-
Strong knowledge of SEN strategies and inclusive teaching practices
-
Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)

Excellent communication and behaviour management skills
-
Patient, resilient, and flexible approach to learning support
Desirable:
-
Teaching qualification or relevant SEND training
-
Familiarity with UK education frameworks and EHCP processes
-
Experience delivering interventions such as phonics, numeracy, or social skills

Ability to tutor both online and in person

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
