Job description

Job Title: SEN Outreach Tutor

Location:

East of England, Essex, Chelmsford

Job Type:

Temporary, expected to work Part-Time hours

£20 - £30 Per hour

Job Duties:

  • Provide English and Maths tutoring to Key Stage 3 students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
  • Deliver outreach sessions tailored to the individual needs of each student
  • Create engaging and inclusive lesson plans to support learning and development
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and support as needed
  • Collaborate with school staff and parents/guardians to ensure continuity in learning

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Specialist knowledge in English and Maths at Key Stage 3 level
  • Experience working with students with Special Educational Needs

Education:

Relevant degree in Education or a related field

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years of teaching/tutoring experience in a similar role

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong understanding of SEN support strategies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual student needs
  • Organisational skills to plan and deliver effective tutoring sessions

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional SEN qualifications or training
  • Experience in delivering outreach or community-based education programmes

Working Conditions:

  • Part-Time hours with flexibility in scheduling
  • Work primarily in learners homes or local libraries
  • May require travel to different locations within the East of England region

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
