Job description

Job Title: GCSE SEN Outreach Tutor

Location: England, Greater London, Barking

Job Type: Temporary, Part-Time

Primary Industry: Education and Training

Salary: £25 - £30 Per hour

Job Duties:

  • Provide tailored English and Maths tutoring to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) at the GCSE level
  • Create individualised lesson plans to meet the specific learning needs of each student
  • Deliver engaging and interactive lessons that promote student participation and understanding
  • Assess students' progress and provide feedback to both students and parents/carers
  • Collaborate with SEN coordinators and other professionals to develop strategies for student success

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience working with students with SEN, particularly at the GCSE level
  • Excellent knowledge of the English and Maths GCSE curriculum
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to suit individual learning styles

Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Education or related field
  • At least 2 years of teaching/tutoring experience
  • In-depth understanding of SEN strategies and best practises
  • Proficient in using technology to enhance learning experiences

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a similar outreach tutoring role
  • Additional certifications in specific learning interventions

Working Conditions:

  • Part-time hours, flexible schedule
  • Work primarily in student's homes or local libraries
  • Potential travel within the area may be required

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
