Job description

Job Title: ESOL Outreach Tutor

Job Duties:

  • Deliver ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) outreach sessions to Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children (UASC) in Dagenham area.
  • Create engaging lesson plans and activities to support language learning and integration for UASC.
  • Provide individualised support and guidance to students to help them achieve language proficiency.
  • Assess students' language skills and progress regularly to adjust teaching methods as needed.
  • Collaborate with other educators and support staff to ensure holistic support for UASC students.

Required Qualifications:

  • Valid teaching qualification in ESOL or related field.
  • Experience working with UASC or vulnerable young people.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding policies and procedures.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Education or relevant field.

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years of experience in teaching ESOL to diverse groups.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of individual learners.
  • Strong understanding of the ESOL curriculum and assessment techniques.
  • Passion for supporting the educational needs of UASC.

Working Conditions:

  • Part-time role with flexible hours.
  • Work primarily in educational settings and community outreach locations.
  • Potential travel within Dagenham area may be required.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
