Job description

Job Title: Outreach Tutor

Location:

Temporary, expected to work Part-Time hours

Job Duties:

  • Provide academic support in English and Maths to Key Stage 3 students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • Deliver tailored lessons to meet individual student requirements and learning styles
  • Develop and implement educational strategies to enhance student engagement and progress
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and support as needed
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external agencies to ensure holistic support for students

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Specialist knowledge of teaching English and Maths at Key Stage 3 level
  • Experience working with students with SEMH needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in a similar role
  • Understanding of SEMH and strategies to support students with these needs
  • Ability to differentiate instruction and adapt teaching methods to meet diverse student needs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional training or certification in Special Educational Needs (SEN)
  • Experience in outreach or community-based educational settings
  • Knowledge of relevant educational policies and practises

Working Conditions:

  • Part-time hours, flexible schedule
  • Work primarily in educational settings, including schools, community centres, libraries and learners homes
  • Collaborative work with teachers, parents, and external agencies

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
