Job Title: 1:1 Tutor (School & Home-Based) – Kettering Area

Location: Kettering and surrounding areas

Full Job Description
We are currently seeking a dedicated and adaptable 1:1 Tutor to support pupils across the Kettering area. This role involves delivering personalised tuition either within school settings or in pupils’ homes during school hours.

This is a rewarding opportunity for individuals who are passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver tailored 1:1 tuition sessions based on individual learning needs
  • Support pupils in core subjects such as English, Maths, and/or Science
  • Adapt teaching approaches to suit a range of abilities, including SEN
  • Build positive relationships to boost pupil confidence and engagement
  • Monitor progress and provide regular feedback
  • Follow safeguarding and compliance procedures at all times

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years’ UK teaching or tutoring experience
  • Good understanding of the UK curriculum (Primary and/or Secondary)
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own schedule

Desirable

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or currently completing a PGCE
  • Experience supporting SEN pupils or those with additional needs
  • Subject specialism in English, Maths, or Science
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
