Trainee Teaching Assistant
Job description
We are recruiting for trainee Teaching Assistants! Our trainee Teaching Assistants have access to multiple FREE Level 3 qualifications online, to compliment the on-the-job training you receive while working on supply.
We can offer both full and part-time employment for applicants who are passionate about supporting young people and are wanting to gain experience and relevant qualifications. You will work on a supply basis across multiple schools within the local area, while also completing the relevant training online. Both of these combined will put you in an excellent position to secure long-term or permanent positions in the future.
The role:
- Required to work from 2 - 5 days per week (school day, 8:30am to 3:30pm)
- Access to online personal diary on which you update your availability weekly to suit your requirements.
- Work in local primary settings across all age groups from EYFS to Year 6.
- Opportunity to prioritise schools that you wish to work more in.
- Opportunity to build on skills supporting special educational needs, mental health challenges and challenging behaviour.
- FREE training including Special Education needs and disabilities – Level 2, Understanding Autism Level 2, Understanding Autism Level 2 and 3, Caring for children and young people Level 2, Understanding Children and Young People’s Mental Health Level 2, Awareness of bullying in children and young people level 2, Safeguarding, prevent and British values level 2, Understanding Mental Health – Level 3, Counselling skills – Level 3
If you have no existing experience with children when joining us, you will need to complete Safeguarding Level 2 and a Level 3 in one of the above to work as a Teaching Assistant.
While you aren't required to have experience for these training positions, you will need to have a clear passion for supporting children, a dedication to work and be able to apply for an enhanced Child Workforce DBS check. Teaching Personnel will support you throughout the remaining of the vetting process which usually takes two weeks and requires a minimum of two work references from the last 2 years.
Ideal applicants would be graduates seeking a route into the classroom, support workers looking to transfer their existing skills into a new role, adults who have supported SEN in a work or personal capacity whose skills could be very beneficial to a school, or anyone else who has a passion for education and supporting young people.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
