Teaching Personnel are looking for confident, outgoing individuals to kick start a rewarding career in special education. A background in SEN with either adults or children is desired but not essential for the role. The school in question is a 3-11 SEN school based in the heart of Pentwyn. There are a number of roles to be filled all starting in January for the rest of the academic year.
Experience: We have found from previous success that personal experience is just as vital for these types of roles. Candidates with a background in care work, sport coaching and youth work are all welcomed for this role. We have also found that graduates have excelled in the role due to their transferable skills gained through their studies and placements.
The role: The role of a Trainee SEN Teaching Assistant is an important element to the children’s learning and how they perceive their day-to-day routines. The successful candidates will be responsible for working as a general teaching assistant working with small classes of 5/6 pupils who have low functioning Autism and are non-verbal. Personal care may also be expected of you at times due to the care needs of the pupils but on the go training will be provided.
The ideal candidate must have a positive can-do attitude with a desire to improve the SEN classroom and make a difference to these pupil’s lives.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
