Teaching Personnel have a high demand for a strong Teaching Assistant with a Team Teach qualification. Team Teach is a specific qualification which teaches you how to positively manage challenging behaviour. The aim of Team Teach is to promote de-escalation strategies and to teach a range of positive handling strategies including guiding, escorting and restraint techniques appropriate for children and young people.
You will be required to work on a small group and 1:1 basis with pupils with emotional and behavioural difficulties including this who will sometimes be challenging on a physical level. Some pupils may have Autism therefore having experience in this area or a close personal connection to Autism would be beneficial but not essential.
Prior experience working in a PRU, secure unit, young offenders institute, working in the army or challenging environment is essential!
The ideal candidate will be willing to work on a supply basis initially whilst we seek a longer term / permanent role for you.
