Team teach SEN teaching assistant - Hounslow

SEN specialist - Team teach trained - Hounslow - September start - salary negotiable

We are currently recruiting for a SEN specialist to work within a one form entry school, this role will be working within a KS2 class with a student with autism and challenging behaviour.

The role?

This full time role will involve providing educational, emotional, physical and social support to a student with autism and associated challenging behaviour. The student you will be working on a one to one basis has a complex EHCP and needs an experienced teaching assistant to work closely to provide a high level of care. You will be working with them within the classroom, supporting them through the daily activities of school life. In many cases you will be required to keep a calm and positive attitude to learning, ensuring they are participating and managing their challenging behaviour.

The school?

The one form entry school has a vast SEN department, with a number of specialists in a variety of areas. They are looking for a hands on member of staff to become heavily involved in their SEND. They have invested resources and time in to the progression of all students, including those with a variety of abilities. They have a positive approach to learning, creating a strong bond with all members of staff to provide continuity to all students.

Ideal candidate?

- experienced with a range of students with special educational needs, including autism, challenging behaviour, speech, language and communication difficulties

- Team teach trained, or willing to complete the training

- Positive and out going approach to teaching

- Work as part of a team, providing feedback to the class teacher, members of SLT and parents/carers

Due to the complexity of the role the rate is negotiable based on experience, training/qualifications and suitability to the role.
