We are working closely with a newly opened special needs school based in Richmond who are looking to appoint 2 teaching assistants to support autistic pupils in a new Year 5 and Year 6 class. The role is full-time starting in September 2020 and will be for one term minimally to support pupils 1:1 and in small groups with catch-up and integrating back into learning.

The school based in Twickenham, Richmond currently has a secondary department and newly appointed teaching assistants will be the first to join the new primary department team. Pupils are diagnosed primarily with autism and speech and language difficulties and will have a tailored learning and development programme. Teaching Assistants will need to be confident in support with academic learning alongside overall care such as personal care, feeding and medication.

If you have experience in the following areas below send your CV today:

• As a Primary Teaching Assistant or in special needs educational settings
• 1:1 support of children or young people with autism
• Using PECS, TEACCH, Makaton
• Supporting speech and language therapy or occupational therapy
• With de-escalation training such as Team Teach or Positive Behaviour Support

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
