The SENCo from our client secondary school in Newport is looking to recruit a youth worker to support a small group of students with behaviour difficulties from September. This role is full time Monday to Friday and requires your own transport as you will be working on and off site with small groups to promote learning and independence. Having experience working with challenging behaviour is essential for this role as you will be the main teacher for the small groups. These students are vulnerable and struggle to build relationships and engage in school life.
You will be joining a large secondary school with a very successful support team that are pioneers within the community. They want someone who is going to be there for the foreseeable who they can invest in with training and guidance.

Experience working with secondary aged pupils or adults is essential, this can be in care, prison, college or voluntary. The right candidate will have a positive and motivational attitude with a calm and patient demeanour. The youth worker must be able to work Mon – Fri 8:30am – 3:30pm.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
