Youth Work School Support Role in Cardiff, opportunity to work as a teaching assistant in a modern and well facilitated Cardiff school.
Required at our partner secondary in Cardiff, we are looking for experienced and qualified youth work teaching assistant to support students from varying backgrounds including high levels of LAC, EAL pupils and also those at risk of exclusion. You will be tasked with supporting and promoting access to Education.
Full time position working as youth work teaching assistant at a Cardiff secondary school
Provide additional support to students who need strong role models
Have a flexible approach to learning and understand the varying pupils needs
Earn £55 - £60 per day as a Youth Work teaching assistant
Our client school is a large modern secondary on the outskirts of the City centre in Cardiff, with easy transport links from the M4 and good public transport links this school is accessible for all. Staff and students can benefit from state of the art facilities including a specialised learning support unit for students to work away from mainstreams lessons. This is where most of your time would be spent in order for you to maximised the support given.
As a youth work teaching assistant, you will work in classrooms supporting teaching staff along with delivering targeted intervention sessions to small groups or 1:1 with individuals that require a high level of support. You will be working closely with teachers and other associate staff to ensure that students maintain full access to the curriculum.
Requirements for youth work teaching assistants;
* Degree specialising in Youth Work, Childhood Studies or Community Service or similar subject
* Previous experience supporting young people aged 11- 16 in educational setting
* The ability to build rapport with students who may have barriers to learning
