Teaching Assistant SEN (Term Time Only)
Salary: £13.75 per hour
Location: Winchester
Contract: Term Time Only

This is seeking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join their committed team, supporting pupils aged 4 to 11 years with a diverse range of learning, communication and physical needs.

The pupils include those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and multi-sensory impairments, and each child brings their own unique strengths and challenges. As such, no two days in the school are the same, and they are looking for a flexible and compassionate individual who shares the passion for inclusive education and enabling every child to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide tailored support to pupils in both classroom and individual settings
• Assist with the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and support strategies
• Work closely with teaching staff, therapists and other professionals to support pupil progress
• Promote communication, independence, and positive behaviour
• Possibly need to support pupils with personal care and physical needs where required
• Contribute to creating a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment

The Ideal Candidate Will:

• Have a genuine interest in working with children with special educational needs
• Demonstrate patience, empathy, and adaptability in a dynamic learning environment
• Possess excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Be proactive and able to respond effectively to the changing needs of pupils
• Experience working with children with ASD and sensory needs is desirable, though not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
