Learning Support Assistant (LSA) – Primary SEMH Setting
Location: Southampton
Pay: £13.75 per hour
Contract: Temporary via Teaching Personnel with the opportunity to go permanent after a successful probation period

Are you passionate about supporting children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? We are seeking dedicated and resilient Learning Support Assistants to join a specialist primary school offering exceptional support to its pupils and staff.

About the Role

  • Work within small class groups with a high LSA-to-pupil ratio

  • Support pupils with SEMH and additional learning needs

  • Receive daily CPD, fully funded by the school, ensuring continuous professional development

  • School finish time varies between 3:00pm and 4:30pm to accommodate CPD sessions

  • Work initially through Teaching Personnel, with a view to becoming permanent following a successful probation period

Requirements

  • Prior experience working with children with additional needs — professional or personal

  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent)

  • A DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one

  • A patient, nurturing approach and a strong commitment to improving outcomes for children with SEMH
