Teaching Assistant - SEN
Job description
This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...
As we work with schools allover the Manchester and Greater Manchester area, we are always recruiting for teaching assistants to work on temporary contracts.
We generally recruit candidates who have a background in one of the following areas;
Education
Youth/ Play work
Psychology
Care/ Support work
Mentoring/Counselling
However, we consider experience from all walks of life including personal experience, and endeavour to help people who potentially are looking for a change of career or experience in the right area.
The students you will support have a range of needs such as severe learning disabilities, profound and moderate learning difficulties and autism spectrum condition. Of course this is not the extent of the needs that are catered for, and the role may include some moving and handling or personal care work.
SEN schools have a much more holistic and active approach to development and learning, aiming to involve all students to help them build their sensory and social skills, and become more independent. Working and building relationships with the students at these schools is a very gratifying experience as you help to create a secure environment for them and become an integral part of their education experience.
If you're looking for classroom experience, or just love working with children, please apply with your CV.
For more information about our roles, feel free to call 0161 242 1798 and ask for Annie.
